We can now do video chats with our friends in Facebook! It's a feature that has been spread for the past few days : Skype Powered Video Chat in Facebook! This new feature allows Facebook users to make video calls to their Facebook friends instead of those spammy chat messages. And the most notable thing is that, users need not create a new Skype account for making calls instead they could directly use the Facebook account. And also to use this new feature, you just gotta install a small program which will be installed in a matter of seconds.
This was actually planned as a rival against Google+, the new social networking site by Google where you can do pretty much exciting stuff when compared to Facebook. Google was the first to launch video calls in the name of Google Hangouts in Google+. And now the other Internet giant Facebook has powered up with Skype to make video calls in Facebook too!

"During the product announcement, Mark Zuckerberg described how his elderly neighbor in Palo Alto asked if he could to video chat his grandson on Facebook — without the hassle of setting up a new account or downloading a program. “Tune in,” Zuckerberg told him.
It’s not quite as seamless as Zuckerberg’s neighbor was hoping, however. The first time you try to video chat someone or answer a call, you will indeed be asked to download a program. The chat window will then ask you to select some Flash settings.
After that, the feature works like “a mini-Skype client,” as Skype CEO Tony Bates mentioned during the announcement. So How Do You Make Video Calls in Facebook?
- Log into your Facebook account and then go to Facebook Video Calling to activate your Facebook video calling service.
- Now you can see a new icon in the chat box or in your friend's profile. When you click that icon for the first or receive a call from a friend for the first time, a popup box will appear asking you to install a program in your computer to make video calls in Facebook.
- After downloading the installer, install the program.
