How to remove ads in a Web page before printing in Firefox

Have you ever found something on a Web site that you wanted to print, but you were forced to also print the ads, wasting your precious ink? Even sites that offer printable versions of their pages can contain unwanted ads, images, and menus.
With a Firefox extension called Print-Edit, you can edit elements of a Web page before printing, so you can remove ads or other parts of a Web page that you don't want. Here's how:

With a Firefox extension called Print-Edit, you can edit elements of a Web page before printing, so you can remove ads or other parts of a Web page that you don't want. Here's how:

Step 2: When you get to a Web page you want to print, like this recipe, click on the Print-Edit toolbar button and select "Print Edit."

Step 3: When the Print-Edit editor appears, you'll notice that some of the ad images have already been removed, but the placeholders are still there. To remove it and any other element on the page, click on sections of the page you don't want, then click the "Delete" button.

Step 4: When you've got the page looking exactly the way you want, click the Preview button. If you like the way it looks, click Print and you're done.

That's it. A time-saving alternative to deleting every element on the page is selecting only the element you want to keep by using the Delete Except button. If you use Google Chrome, check out Nicole Cozma's post on a similar extension for the Chrome browser.
